Sometimes, It Starts With “Failures”

Let us start with some “FAILURES” today.
- J.K. Rowling’s original ‘Harry Potter’ pitch was rejected 12 times before finding success.
- The Queen’s Gambit – the overnight success of Netflix Show. It took writer and producer Allan Scott about thirty years to get this show into production. During that time, he rewrote the story nine times and approached several studios. Each studio rejected the show, as they believed that nobody would be interested in chess.
- Sadie Robertson – a Christian entrepreneur and speaker. She once shared that when she first started speaking on stage, she did stumble, and people literally asked for money back after the event.
- A career coach said she has experience launching a course that only one person bought and did not finish years ago.
- In an interview, one of my entrepreneur friends stated that she felt lonely and unsupportive when she started launching her own business for the first two years (her mother and husband did try to ask her to quit, she did doubt herself, but chose not to in the end.)
Sometimes, we are so busy focusing on other people’s success that we might doubt ourselves when things did not take off as expected. Let’s take some time to look at successful people where they have been in the past.
May we trust the process and ask God not just for success but to increase our patience, perseverance, wisdom, and mold our character during our journey when pursuing goals and dreams.
Romans 5:3-5
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Enjoy the journey!
