God Wants To Partner With You – Revealing The Father’s Heart

In 2021, due to Covid-19 Pandemic, we couldn’t hang out at shopping malls and cafes most of the time, which allowed us to have extra free time. Out of the blue, I start to draw (or, shall I say, doodling). There was a time I decided to draw with God at least once a month.

I was trying to draw something based on the bible verse “The Lord’s Prayer.” In my mind, I pictured a girl dressed in a flowy gown, climbing up the stairway to heaven and asking for God’s kingdom to come. I meant to paint a beautiful picture, yet the result turned out to be “not satisfactory.” I decided to try again. Next, the word “graffiti” and “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is on heaven” hit my mind.

I redraw the picture in graffiti form this time (I tried). As I was drawing, I felt that God wanted to invade our daily lives. When we speak of Graffiti, we think of really cool, creative, authentic raw art. Yet previously, society viewed Graffiti negatively. The street gangs wanted to mark their territory and did their writing on the wall. It was viewed as a crime and vandalism. Somehow this form of art has emerged and accepted by society and even big businesses.

Usually, we will see Graffiti on subways, railway stations, streets and alleys, public spaces. He wants them to have the freedom to express themselves creatively. I begin to feel that God wants to mark His territory into these communities. He wants to be around communities that we Christians don’t see as mainstreams. Communities where we often think they are against Christianity, and we choose not to talk about. God wants to partner with them. God wants to show His glory and presence, to heal and restore them. He doesn’t require them to dress up decently and sit inside the church every Sunday morning. He wants them to be themselves, as unique as they are. He wants to have a real relationship with them.

When God began to reveal His heart to me, I had no words, except “oh my God, oh my God.” I already know God loves everyone in this world, but if He ever shows His heart to you, you will have no words but be speechless. His generosity is x100 bigger than I ever imagined.
