God Wants To Partner With You – Part 2

When God Created Adam and Eve

I wonder what do you see or how do you feel when you read Genesis (The Holy Bible), from the part where God created Adam and Eve until they have sinned. I used to focus on how God have instructed them not to eat the forbidden fruit, how the serpent deceived Eve, both of them fall into the trap, they betrayed God and ate the fruit, and since then, they were forever banished from the Garden of Eden. Game over.

Now, as I understand that God wanted a partnership with us, I looked at the Genesis from a whole new perspective. Adam and Eve, they did sin, they suffer consequences, but that didn’t stop God to continue on with His divine plan. If we read through the bible, we will find that God never stop partnering with His people, He even find ways to restore the relationship. This is what He wanted to do now in our earthly places, those communities. He is looking for partnership.

Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them and said: “ Be fruitful and multiply, Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Genesis 2:19 So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. 20 He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals…

The Idea Of The Enemy

The enemy doesn’t like the idea of us partnering with God. His plan is to get us to become the enemy to God. The enemy seduce both Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, turning their focus away from partnering together with God, and get them to believe “being on their own” is so much better than being with God. The moment Adam and Eve bite the forbidden fruit, the partnership is broken, consequences are human have to struggle on their own, to toil blood and sweat to make a living.

Although the humankind have failed, but that never stop God from wanting to partnering with us. God partner with Noah, and told Noah to build an ark before He rains on the earth for forty days and forty nights. He partner with Abraham, and lead Abraham leave his country, everything he knew behind and go to the land God wants to show him. Moving forward to the new testament. Jesus came into this world in human form, he demonstrate a good example of partnering with God and other people. When Jesus is out on the mission, he choose 12 disciples to partner with him, and there were many other followers following and sponsoring him along the way.

Often In church, we were being taught to do wonderful things for God, everything we do, we do it for the Lord. But here is the truth, God doesn’t only want you to do things for Him. He wants you to do things with Him. When you start to learn partnering with Jesus, you will no longer view Christianity as a religion, but a real relationship with God. Our God is not interested in religion. He is interested in having a relationship with you, and interested in you introducing Jesus to others so others may develop a relationship with Him too.

I have always thought of Christianity as going to church on Sunday, then do some charity work during free time, it would be better to add on some bible study and prayer time. Those are good thing, but why have the second best when you can have the best? Let us embark on this journey on partnering with Jesus, are you ready for this?
